As head of movement across a 5-hour show with over 40,000 people in attendance, this was a project I absolutely loved creating. For me, this presented a real challenge and the opportunity to create something that hadn't been done before. With a 30ft pyramid rising from the middle of the crowd, an epic nonagon centre stage, and huge wrap-around LED screens on a film-set-scale main stage, there was so much space to play with, but a scale we had to meet to make sure no one in the audience missed a beat. As a creative on board who had already delivered their debut show, this was another chance to build something truly special, as the night moved from the world of SAULT into headline sets from its now-known members, Chronixx and Cleo Sol. I directed and choreographed all performing artists, including special guests Yasiin Bey (formerly Mos Def) and Ganavya, alongside a cast of over 60 dancers, specialist performers, actors and models. This was Provenance. A space that travelled from ancestral worlds into the future. A celestial journey and immersive experience that broke away from the usual festival setup, working hand in hand with the artists to bring their visions to life and share their music with their fans.
